RIO BAR sound scapes have been commissoned by the Europäische Donauakademie Ulm for the RIO BAR theater production, based on the novel RIO BAR, written by the croatian writer and multiple literature award winner Ivana Sajko.

during the process of creating the theater piece, and reading through the intensive and deeply touching stories, narrated by Ivana Sajko, i got inspired to write or rather to capture the sounds/music scenario for rio bar.

the war in yugoslavia during the 90s, with all it's atrocities, madness, mental and physical cruelties, psychic traumas, rapes and individual tragedies, provides an aching background for the rio bar story line. although i created war sound scapes for the live performances, i decided to not include these sounds in the online download set.
